Praised for her “creamy soprano timbre and secure coloratura”, Israeli singer, Avigail Gurtler Har-Tuv, is also applauded for “Taking on every bit of the character. She gives charm, whimsy and vivaciousness to the sweep of emotions the character undergoes within the course of the opera”.
Highlights of recent seasons include the roles of Adina in Donizetti’s L'elisir d'amore and Sylvie in Gounod’s La Colomb with the Jerusalem Opera, conducted by Maestro Omer Arieli; as well as the role of Zerlina in Mozart’s Don Giovanni with the Israel Sinfonietta Beersheva, conducted by Maestro Nir Kabaretti.
Upcoming highlights include the role of Adina in Donizetti’s L'elisir d'amore and the role of Queen of the Night in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte with the Haifa Symphony Orchestra.
“Sailing effortlessly through registers of her voice in delightful singing”, Gurtler Har-Tuv has sung in opera galas with Israel's finest orchestras, and recently performed with the Israel Opera at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow in front of the prime minister of Israel and the president of Russia at an official event marking 25 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Gurtler Har-Tuv performed the roles of Jano in Janacek’s Jenufa and Mustardseed in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream with the Israel Opera. She often performs the role of Queen of the Night in the Israel Opera’s 4 different outreach productions of Mozart’s The Magic Flute, including the newest production with the Israel Chamber Orchestra and Maestro Ethan Schmeisser.
As a member of The Israel Opera Meitar Studio, she was the winner of the merit scholarship from the Esther and Dr. Eli Leon Foundation. While a member of the studio, she performed the roles of Queen of the Night in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Gretel in Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel and Barbarina in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, all with the Israel Sinfonietta Be'ersheva, as well as Adele in J. Strauss’ Die Fledermaus with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra and Adina in Donizetti’s L'elisir d'amore with the Israel Chamber Orchestra. She also performed the roles of Sophie in Massenet’s Werther, Susanna in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, Clorinda in Rossini’s La Cenerentola as well as Sandmännchen and Taumännchen in Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel in studio productions throughout the years.
In 2016, Gurtler Har-Tuv joined The Vienna-Tel-Aviv Vocal Connection where she expanded her repertoire, performing the role of Madame Herz in Mozart’s Der Schauspieldirektor with the Israel Chamber Orchestra and Maestro Stanley Sperber; and the role of Zerlina in Mozart’s Don Giovanni with the Israel Chamber Orchestra and Maestro Ariel Zuckerman, which she later again performed with the Israel Sinfonietta Be'ersheva, conducted by Maestro Nir Kabaretti. She continues to perform with them on a regular basis.
